A train… melted to be transformed… into commemorative train tickets made of steel? That’s a huge challenge undertaken by VIA Rail Canada as part of a contest for their 40th anniversary. See for yourself in a video shot in part inside our Contrecoeur-West complex. We are proud to have been part of this impressive project.
ArcelorMittal Long Products Canada has opened its doors to VIA for the video shoot, but also was responsible for gathering the train pieces, melting them at the Contrecoeur-West steelworks and rolled the billets into flat bars that were used by VIA to create the tickets.
