Mathieu Francoeur

Vice President - Operations

Mathieu Francoeur currently heads operations at AMPLC, where he oversees production, quality & process, shipping & logistics, and reliability & asset management. In this role, he focuses on process optimization and cross-team collaboration to continuously improve performance and product quality. These strategic complexes include an ore reduction plant, a scrap sorting and shredding center, two steel mills with electric arc furnaces, three rolling mills and two wire drawing mills. In his current role, Mr. Francoeur actively contributes to the development of these complexes and to the synergy between ArcelorMittal Long Products Canada's various facilities.

With over 20 years' experience in the industry, Mathieu is an expert in operations management and accounting. He began his career at AMPLC as a financial analyst in 2004. He then held various positions, including flat-rolled product control analyst, sales and price control manager, and sales manager for Special Quality Bar (SQB) products. In 2018, he became general manager of Contrecoeur West and Longueuil operations, before being promoted to vice-president of operations in 2022.

Mathieu Francoeur holds a degree in management accounting from Université du Québec à Montréal and a Master of Business Administration from Université de Sherbrooke. He holds a Chartered Accountant (CPA) license.
