Stéphane Brochu

Stéphane Brochu, President and CEO, ArcelorMittal Long Products Canada and Vice-President, ArcelorMittal Worldwide

Stéphane Brochu currently heads up ArcelorMittal Long Products Canada, which includes an ore reduction plant, two steel mills, three rolling mills, two wire drawing mills, a scrap sorting and shredding center and over 2,000 employees. In this role, he emphasizes collaboration and synergies between each stage of the value chain to continually improve product quality and strengthen the company's reputation with customers.

With over 30 years' experience in the steel industry, Stéphane is passionate about metallurgy. He began his career at Atlas Stainless Steel before joining the ArcelorMittal group in 1998 as Senior Coordinator. He quickly rose through the ranks, becoming Plant Manager of the wire rod plant at the Contrecoeur-Est complex, Plant Manager of the cold rolling mills, and then Plant Manager of the flat products plant. In 2008, he was appointed plant manager of the Contrecoeur-Ouest bar mill, before taking over the management of the Contrecoeur-Ouest steel mill in 2012.

In November 2017, on the strength of his in-depth knowledge of all stages of steel production and processing, he was appointed Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer of ArcelorMittal Long Products Canada, before taking over as General Manager of the company in 2022.

Stéphane holds a bachelor's degree in metallurgical engineering from École polytechnique de Montréal.
