ArcelorMittal Long Products Canada – A New Name, the Same Values

5 January 2016

CONTRECOEUR, January 5, 2016 – A new year brings another chapter in the rich history of ArcelorMittal Montreal facilities: a new name. Effective January 1, 2016, the business unit will operate under the name ArcelorMittal Long Products Canada.

This new name reflects our sites’ geographic diversity (Contrecoeur, Longueuil, Montreal and Hamilton) and more directly describes what we do: we sell and manufacture long steel products. “The change will provide an opportunity to confirm our commitment to all our stakeholders: our employees, customers, suppliers and communities. We are proud of what our company has achieved in this country since 1914 and we look to the future with enthusiasm,” said Sujit Sanyal, Chief Executive Officer, ArcelorMittal Long Products Canada.

This name change happens simultaneously with a simplification of our corporate structure under which our legal status becomes a “general partnership” (g.p.). This administrative change will enable us to improve our efficiency and reduce management costs, which will benefit our organization and our customers.

Our contact information – whether by phone, fax, e-mail or regular mail – remains the same, with the exception of our segment’s Web site which will be nom accessible through the following address: https://long-canada.arcelormittal.com. As a reminder, the Web site includes detailed information about the segment and its activities. It also features the new “Our Steel, My Pride” video which tells the story of ArcelorMittal Long Products Canada employees in their daily quest for quality.

Only our name has changed – our mission remains the same: to manufacture safe, sustainable steel.
