A new 6-year collective agreement for Montreal wire mill unionized employees
Unionized employees of the ArcelorMittal Long Products Canada Montreal (St.Patrick street) wire mill (United Steelworkers-FTQ Local 9399) held a special general meeting earlier today and the majority voted to accept the principle agreement between the union and the employer for the renewal of their bargaining contract. This agreement will take effect January 1, 2018 for a 6-year term. The current bargaining contract was set to expire on December 31, 2017. The contract covers about 125 workers.
