Following a general special meeting, a majority of unionized employees of the ArcelorMittal Long Products Canada Hamilton-East (Ontario) wire mill have voted yesterday to accept the terms of the July 14 agreement for the renewal of their bargaining contract. The agreement has an effective date of August 1, 2016 for a 5-year term. The previous agreement was to expire on July 31, 2016.

The agreement covers about 160 unionized employees represented by the United Steelworkers, local 5328.
