To meet the immediate and future training needs of our employees and our company, ArcelorMittal Long Products Canada has beefed up its training facilities. These have opened their doors in the last weeks in new premises located in the Contrecoeur-East complex. Called Steel Campus, the building has several multifunctional rooms that will bring together most of our training under one roof while ensuring the proximity of equipment for technical training such as slinging, forklift driving, etc. Whether for new employee orientation or specialized training, the Steel Campus will serve as a meeting place for learning and exchanges, therefore upgrading our training offer to employees. Rooms may also be available for other types of meetings, as required and subject to availability. The Steel Campus will also house our internal Rescue Team, which will have a garage for its vehicles and equipment.

The Campus was officially launched on May 29 in the presence of our President and CEO, François Perras, our Vice President and General Manager, Human Resources and Legal Affairs, Gilles Quenneville, members of the Human Resources team and representatives of the United Steelworkers. The same day, the Campus hosted a blood drive for employees – a first for several years in our facilities. In addition to all those who visited the Steel Campus to take a look at the new premises, more than 20 employees donated blood.
