CONTRECOEUR, May 11, 2017 – ArcelorMittal Long Products Canada has decided to contribute to the support for flood victims in eastern Canada with a donation of $2,500 to the Canadian Red Cross fund.

“We want to support the Red Cross initiative and help those who are going through this difficult time near our host communities and elsewhere in Quebec and Canada,” said Sujit Sanyal, Chief Executive Officer of ArcelorMittal Long Products Canada. “We also encourage our employees to make personal donations to give the victims as much assistance as possible.”

Donations can be made to the Canadian Red Cross via their Web site www.redcross.ca or by calling 1 800 418-1111.

The Red Cross Spring Floods Appeal aids people affected by the flooding with shelter, food, basic home repairs, children’s needs and personal services.

Many areas near ArcelorMittal Long Products Canada facilities, including Montérégie and the western part of the Montreal Island, have been affected by unprecedented high water levels.
